November 28, 2013 at 1:28 am in reply to: Party Vibe Radio’s 16th Birthday, Week Long, Live Stream Bananzar!(9th-15th Dec 2013) #1276280I’ve just put a mix together to promote the week too. It wasn’t with the intention of knocking this off the exclusive official mix spot though. I’m more than happy for it to be the unofficial mix! 😉
It’s insane that a simple novelty app like snapchat can make someone a billionaire.
Well, I did read in to it a bit and it’s not quite as it seems. Wasn’t going to mention it unless someone else called it but:
It seems it’s individual samples of crickets, slowed and pitched to harmonize when played together. Hence the chorus sound. It’s still crickets though. Just not quite as natural as it’s made out to be.
Mental. Love that.

“Bah! I spit in the face of Cameron”
Sad news. My first mp3 player before switching to VLC. I did my first radio broadcast using 56k dialup via winamp in about 1999… albeit just to a couple of mates!
Rest in peace you llama farmers.
Just gave it a quick scan through, and unfortunately I can’t remember much of the breaks. It was 8 years ago after all and I’ve never been great with tracknames. If there is anything you are desperate for I can dig through the vinyl and see if I can find it. As for the techno it was a bit easier as those are burnt on my brain from years of playing them out at parties.
Breaks:
1: Son Of The Electric Ghost – The great & the terrible
2: ???
3: ???
4: ??? <I remember the copy I have of it was labeled up wrong though, so even if I found it I couldn't tell you what it was. Something on Rat Records or Hardcore Beats though I think
5: ??? Sounds like the breakfastaz though
6: ???
7: ED209 – Infectious (Ils remix)
8: ???
9: ???
10: Dj Mutiny – The Distance
11: Freestylers – Punks (Krafty Kuts remix)
12: ???
13: ???
14: ???Techno:
1: A&E Dept – Rabbit’s Name Was (Kris Needs remix)
2: Immersion – RAVE
3: Kektex – Lock
4: Kektex – Inner City Junkies
5: Mr Burns – Acidville
6: ??? Something on VCF???
7: Nexus 6 – Trés Chic
8: Dj Fury – Coming Up For AirDnb @ the end: EZ Rollers – Weekend World (Calyx remix)
Cheers man! Yeah, there are some gooduns in there. All props to the artists of course, I just glue it together.
Off topic, but just because it’s a masterpiece:
I’m not anti tech (serato etc) but check the old school for real feeling, obvious skill and enjoyable to the ears!!

4mins in!!! :weee:My thoughts exactly.
The guy is clearly skilled and I have no hope of performing anything like that, but it’s been heavily edited so that he can drop bars back in after scratching sections. At one point he seems to be juggling so that he is simply playing the original tune but juggling like crazy, which seems to defeat the object.
Also, it’s so busy musically that I just don’t get in to the groove and it’s hard to tell what he’s actually doing. Watch some old skool dmc routines and I think you’ll see what I mean. Maybe not as fast paced and blam blam blam but much more engaging, enjoyable and quite obviously displays skills.
How much are you budgeting for?
You can’t go far wrong with these: Sennheiser HD25 1 II Basic Edition Headphones at Juno Records
or these: Beyerdynamic DT770 M Headphones (80 Ohm version) at Juno Records
Aye, what Dafty said.
Sweet, I’d forgotten you’d offered to do that mate, nice one. I’m assuming the idea would be to have this in line with the monitor aux out from the desk?
If you will enjoy building this then be my guest, I’ll be more than happy to use it. It’s not 100% necessary though as I do not need to feed the mic to the monitor. The “on air” light would be awesome though.
Hi. I’m just here for my daily fix.
I’ll just leave you with this from Chris Howell (Luna-C, Cru-L-T and many other aliases…)
When dealing with the philosophical aspects of the creation of any art, there are many questions, but I think there are no universally correct answers. There are only opinions, and because art is personal, those opinions differ from one person to another. There is no right and wrong, just what is right for you or wrong for you as an individual. I am not debating a fixed theology here, just what makes for better art for the artist.
